In Kindergarten we have continued our focus on rhyme this term through nursery rhymes and fairy tales. We clap syllables and and identify rhyming words on a daily basis. When sharing fairy tales, we practice reading a story from memory and identifying sight words. We usually follow up with a discussion about the moral of the story and an activity that helps recall the main events.
On Thursday, the children used role play to recall and retell the main events in the Gingerbread Man. They worked cooperatively in their groups and did a great job of retelling the main events of the story.
